What, no link?Sky Television chief executive John Fellet says he is not concerned about websites that include virulent attacks against Sky sports coverage and put the blame squarely on him.
He describes the site, which looks at the resources Sky puts into its high-definition broadcasts for some sports events, as cyber-bullying.
Anti-media sites are common enough - there is even one devoted to this paper - but www.johnfellet.com does have an edge to it.

The blog that dare not speak its name
From an article in the Business section by John Drinnan:

"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win"
ReplyDeleteExcept in your case, first fought you, then they ignored you, they are now ridiculing you and will probably win.
That being said, I read your site more than I read the actual Herald (paper or electron) so I wonder what that says.
Lulz.
ReplyDeleteI prefer to think of this site as anti-stupidity rather than "anti-media".
ReplyDeleteAnti media?
ReplyDeletemethink John needs his compass reset, this site is pro-good-journalisim.
Perhaps he's feeling a bit edgy because he hasn't found a way to bag Russell Brown this week.
ReplyDeleteThat someone has a blog devoted to the Herald proves this site is in fact pro-media and pro-Herald. Just anti-poor journalism.
ReplyDeleteIs that why Drinnan can't bring himself to mention the name of this site? Because his name may get more than an occasional mention here?
Calling this site "anti-media" is like calling www.johnfellet.com an "anti-sports" site.
ReplyDeleteIf I stand in front of a mirror and say "Editing the Herald" three times, will James appear? And more importantly, will he stop to pick up beers on the way?
ReplyDeleteAlso, shouldn't this be an "anti-medium" site, if it's only anti- one particular newspaper?
Is John Drinnan implying that this site *hasn't* got an edge to it?
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting that John Fellet has labelled the problem 'cyber-bullying' while at the same time saying he's not concerned by it. Is he advocating 'cyber- bullying'?
ReplyDelete"Should cyber-bullying as part of a love/hate relationship with the media be a crime in New Zealand?"
Everyone has said it already.
ReplyDeleteThe Herald is anti-journalism devoted to providing material for this site.
The Herald is an anti-Editing the Herald newspaper.
ReplyDeleteIn my humble opinion, John Drinnan is one of the best-informed commentators the Herald have got. (I quite like Tapu Misa too, save when she goes all Christian lovin' on our arse.)
ReplyDeleteI agree, a link would have been a magnanimous gesture though.
no no, gazzaj, without the herald there would be no 'editing' of the herald
ReplyDelete"without the herald there would be no 'editing' of the herald"
ReplyDeleteIndeed some days it seems this blog is the only editing the Herald ever gets.
