ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of the single inverted commas around a word or two formula for the very reason your make. It looks like you don't believe what's being said.
ReplyDeleteIt's banned at most Australian papers (or was banned when I was working there). When I came back to edit a trade newspaper here, I spend two or three years editing it out of copy.
I love that they've now removed the inverted commas. heh.
ReplyDeleteAnd it was in business news?!?! Wtf?!? I like that they chucked the token reference to his businesses (not new information though) at the end just so it could fit into the category.
